Now that is a comment sure worth laughing at. I think you could take about anybody around here, not just talking about coaches either but anybody who played football and has some knowledge of the game and let them take contorl of Norton and would win at the VERY least 5 or 6 games.

Hard to explain that when he went 7-3 at Ervinton with less than what he has now.

There were two reasons for that season at Ervinton. And neither of them were Crabtree.

Jesus Christ could be the head coach at Pound right now and the Cats still wouldn't finish .500. No knock on the kids from Pound. They play hard,but small schools have cycles,and it is what it is. Lord knows we have been there. Toss in all of the "outside influences",and nobody in their right mind would take the helm (except for an LB alum who is letting his heart overrule his mind). It isn't exactly like the New England Patriot HC post folks.

Part of the problem is there Schedule it is fine and good to have a tough schedule for an established program but for a team needing to find its way you need a few cupcakes (A GREAT example is the schedule Sanders put together for Kelly his 1st 2 years)

IMHO if Pound can open next season with Ervinton or Twin Valley and start the year off with one or 2 wins it will go along way in the kids buying into the system which IMHO is something that EVERY successful program has to have happen

I agree with that as well. At this point,the Cats have no business playing teams like PH and Chilhowie.

Maybe PH, but Chilhowie is a tough order right now. PH has been down since about 98 though and isn't a bad game for anyone necessarily although Compton may get them on the upswing again.
